Reviews and Ratings
Stepping back into the 1960s while overlooking the beautiful lake on campus was very nice and a great value. The hotel offers exceptional service, with staff willing to assist in ordering a cab for early morning flights and surprising guests with special treats like an Anniversary gift of champagne and chocolates. The location is excellent, particularly for a tranquil forest preserve experience, though it might feel a bit isolated for some. Dining options vary from delightful with friendly staff to slightly expensive and disappointing experiences at 'self-service' establishments. Overall, a great pick for a cozy and nostalgic stay.
The hotel had a mix of positive and negative aspects. The rooms on the 3rd floor were nice, clean, and comfy but had a strong chlorine smell. The service was friendly and accommodating for the large conference group, yet self-parking at night felt unsafe. The location was beautiful with well-kept grounds offering a wonderful view, but finding the entrance was challenging. The dining experience was delightful with friendly staff but was subpar at the self-service restaurant. Overall, the hotel provided a pleasant stay despite some minor drawbacks.
My stay at the hotel was both magical and disappointing. The rooms, despite some issues like peeling paint on the bathroom door and finding hair in the bed, offered an incredible view through full walls of glass. The presence of spiders was a downside. Most guests were attending conferences or weddings, creating a lively atmosphere.
